Patek Philippe and Rolex watches shine at Phillips “Prestigious Watches-Hong Kong XIII” Auction

From November 25th to 26th, 2021, Phillips and Bacs & Russo will hold the “Prestigious Watches-Hong Kong XIII” auction. This auction brings together 306 precious watches, including masterpieces from Lange, F.P. Journe and Gérald Genta. Of course, the most striking are Patek Philippe and Rolex watches.

This watch was produced in 1973 and is currently the only known Patek Philippe Ref. 3448 perpetual calendar watch decorated with sapphire hour markers, nicknamed “The Blue Royale”, and it is also the three Ref. 3448 with a sapphire perspective back. One of the perpetual calendar watches is probably a style specially customized by the original watch owner. It is reported that the pre-sale valuation of the watch exceeded 10 million Hong Kong dollars.

The Rolex Ref.6241 “John Player Special” chronograph watch came out in 1965, but the production period was only four years, and it was discontinued in 1969. Fewer than 300 pieces are made of 18K gold, making it one of the rarest Daytona models ever. The watch to be auctioned was produced in 1968 and is equipped with a Paul Newman “John Player Special” dial, which has never been seen in the auction market before. It is reported that the pre-sale valuation of the watch was between 4.65 million and 9.6 million Hong Kong dollars.

Other highlights

The Rolex Ref.6263 stainless steel chronograph watch, equipped with a “Paul Newman” dial and a “tropical” orbital minute circle, was estimated to be 4 million to 6 million Hong Kong dollars before the auction.

The Patek Philippe Ref. 1518 gold perpetual calendar moon phase chronograph watch, produced in 1949, was estimated to be 2.7 million to 3.9 million Hong Kong dollars before the auction.

The F.P. Journe Chronomètre à Resonance platinum dual time zone watch, equipped with a double escapement and a brass movement, has a power reserve display function. It was produced in 2001 and was estimated at HKD 935,000 to HKD 1.87 million before the auction.

Gérald GentaRef.G40114 platinum and diamond hollow minute repeater perpetual calendar watch, with leap year indication and moon phase profit and loss function, about production in 1990, pre-sale estimate of 780,000 to 1.5 million Hong Kong dollars.

The Rolex Ref.6265 gold chronograph watch, equipped with an “Oyster Split” dial and bracelet, was produced in 1975, and was estimated at 780,000 to 1.56 million Hong Kong dollars before the auction.

The Rolex Ref.16589 SACI white gold diamond and sapphire crystal chronograph watch, produced approximately in 1998, was estimated at HK$630,000 to HK$1.3 million before the auction. “
